We want to ensure that every aspect of your experience is seamless, so here are some things to note when coming to hang out with us.


We really want to really get to know our clients, which is why all our cut, colour and styling appointments begin with a personalised, complementary consultation to ensure we understand exactly what you are looking for and to find the right service for you. During this consultation we analyse your hair and scalp health, assess your hair texture and advise on cut, colour and style as required. We are also happy to walk you through all aspects of at home hair care. 

Your First Colour Service

We want to make sure you take well to our colours. Please be aware of our Government Required patch test policy if a colour service or patch test has not been done by use in the salon 4 months prior then we need you to come in 48 hours before the appointment in question for a patch test. We also offer complimentary colour consultations to ensure you book in for the right service.

Pricing Guidance

Please note that some prices are length dependent and available on consultation. Our colour services only include a dry off as part of your experience as well as the facilities to dry your own hair if you choose not to book a blow-dry or haircut after your colour service. If you would prefer a full blow dry that lasts 45 minutes, please book this in addition to your colour service. We serve a selection of complimentary organic teas, coffee, wine and beer to enjoy with your service.

Green Salon Collective

Strand & Lock is proud to be a part of the Green Salon Collective, an initiative dedicated to sustainable practices in the salon industry. As a commitment to environmental responsibility, a discretionary fee of £2 will be applied to all appointments. This fee is intended to support and contribute to the efforts of the Green Salon Collective in fostering eco-friendly practices within the beauty and salon community.

Booking Policy

We all struggle with punctuality in these busy times but we kindly ask you to arrive on time to ensure you receive your full service. If you are running late, we will do everything we can to accommodate you. If you are excessively late, please keep in mind that we may have to reschedule your appointment.

Cancellation/No Show Policy
We know life gets in the way but we kindly ask that appointment changes or cancellations are made with 24 hours’ notice, as a courtesy to both our stylists and other clients. 100% payment may be required if any appointment is cancelled after this time or no if you don’t show to your appointment.
